Below is all the information you
need to know about your child’s recital and rehearsals!
Recital Rehearsal Schedule:

Rehearsal will be at the Salvation Army Kroc Center. Please arrive at your following times according to class:
-Wear regular dance clothes.
-Bring all dance shoes

Recital Hair:

Ballet Beginnings and Tiny Toes & Tappers (2-5 year olds): Each dancer will need to have their hair pulled off and away from face and styled with hair bow secured in center on top of head.

Beginner (6/7 year olds): Each dancer will need to have their hair pulled off and away from face and styled half up and half down with the hair bow secured in the center on top of head.
Beginner II (8/10 year olds): Each dancer will need to have their hair pulled off and away from face and styled in a low bun centered between the ears and the hair piece secured at the center right of bun.
Beginner Jazz: Each dancer will need to have their hair pulled off and away from face and styled in a low bun centered between the ears and the hair bow secured in center.

Teen Tap/Ballet: Each dancer will need to have hair pulled off and away from face and styled in a low bun centered between the ears and the hair accessory secured on the dancers left side.
Intermediate Ballet: Each dancer will need to have hair pulled off and away from face and styled in a low bun centered between the ears and the hair accessory secured on the dancers left side.
Hip Hop: Each dancer will need to have their hair pulled off and away from face and styled in a high pony tail with the hair accessory wrapped around the pony tail.
Tween Jazz/Contemporary: Each dancer will need to have their hair pulled off and away from face and styled in a high pony tail with the sequin hair scrunchie secured around pony tail.
Intermediate II (pointe, ballet, contemporary, tap, jazz): All dancers need to have their hair pulled off and away from face and styled into a low bun centered between the ears. Scrunchies need to be secured around bun and all other hair accessories need to be secured to the dancers left side.
Dance Costume Reminders:
*Dancers need to come fully dressed in their costumes including tights and their dance shoes. Costumes and shoes need to be labeled. Dancers with multiple costumes should have a garment bag to hold all costumes/shoes/accessories.
*Stage make up is optional.
*No underwear or other undergarments should be worn under the costumes!
*Do not wear any jewelry or have fingernail polish on nails
General Information:
All dancers need to arrive dressed and ready to perform no later than 4:15pm. The show will start promptly at 4:30pm
The performance will take place at the Salvation Army Kroc Center. Dancers will need to enter to the right of the side door leading to the stage.
Only one parent/guardian is allowed to walk their child back behind stage as well as pick up. No parents allowed to stay behind stage.
No personal belongings are allowed to be brought with your dancer. No electronics/cell phones! We are not responsible for lost or stolen items.
Tickets are $18 each for reserved seating and $10 for general admission. Ages 4 years and older are required to have a ticket.
Photography is allowed, however, refrain from using flash photography as this can distract your dancer on stage and can cause issues.
Video recording is allowed as long as proper recognition of Southern Dance Company is used.
We encourage praise and clapping for your dancer, but excessive shouting/yelling is not permitted as this can distract your dancer on stage.
Dress Rehearsal 2026 Information at the Studio:
All dancers need to arrive dressed and ready on time.
Your dancer should have their hair pulled up correctly, tights and costume.
Dancers with multiple costumes, please be sure all costumes are labeled with your dancer’s name and in a garment bag.
Each class will perform their routine in front of other dancers to prepare them for their recital on stage.
Rehearsal 2026 Information at the Salvation Army Kroc Center:
All dancers must arrive at their schedule time (please see schedule above in the drop-down box).
Each dancer will run each of their dance routines twice.
Please wear regular dance clothes for this practice.
